Hi, I’m Markéta 👋, and this is my story — the one that brought me to GlobeTales

I graduated in 2012, and just two weeks later, I made a completely spontaneous decision: I moved to London, UK ✈️. My plan was simple — stay for a year, make some money, learn languages , and gain experiences 🌟. But life, as it always does, had other plans.

​

The UK captured my heart ❤️ in a way I never expected. It gave me freedom, opportunity, and memories that shaped who I am. It made me grow 🌱, made me strong … but it also broke me in ways I couldn’t have imagined.

The last year there shattered me. I burned out 🔥. I lost my job because of bullying  — yes, in 2025, adults still bully. I had to fight through lawyers ⚖️, fake friends, betrayals… and heartbreak.

​And as if life hadn’t tested me enough, I met someone who I thought might finally be different… but instead, I got ghosted 👻💔. That was the final straw, the cherry on top of the mess. I realized I no longer had the energy or the mental space to keep fighting battles in a world that kept breaking me down. So I made a bold choice — to walk away, to leave it all behind, and to give myself the freedom to start over somewhere new. 🌍✨

Being an immigrant, living far from family, is harder than most people realise. Your holidays are spent traveling to see the people you love 🌏✈️. You give and give, yet life doesn’t always give back in the ways you hope. And sometimes, that reality hits harder than anything else.

​

So I made the hardest decision of my life: to let go of everything I had built 🏠, to leave behind the life I knew, and to start over. A new start 🌅. A new me ✨. A new language, new friends, new adventures, new beginnings — a new life 💛.

​

GlobeTales was born from that courage 💪✨ — from the decision to not let pain define me, to not let betrayal or heartbreak hold me back. This is my journey of rediscovery 🌍💫. This is my way of exploring the world, but also exploring myself 🌱.

​

Here, you’ll find my stories — the triumphs 🏆, the setbacks, the laughter, the tears — and hopefully, some inspiration to take that leap too. Life is fragile, messy, and unpredictable… and sometimes, the only way forward is to start again 🔄💛.

When it comes to adventure, my biggest passion lies in all the sports that revolve around a board 🌊❄️☀️ — surfing, wakeboarding, snowboarding, and sometimes even a bit of skateboarding 🛹. For me, these aren’t just hobbies, but a way to feel freedom, adrenaline, and a true connection with the world around me. On my travels, I want to keep chasing new places, new waves, new mountains, and new challenges — and devote myself to what truly lights up my soul. 🏄‍♀️
